  • About Bristol

Bristol is located about 120 miles (190 km) west of London at the confluence of the Rivers Avon and Frome. Just west of the city, the Avon flows into the estuary of the River Severn, which itself empties into the Bristol Channel of the Atlantic Ocean, about 8 miles to the northwest. Within easy reach of most places in the UK (we’re just 1.5 hours from London by rail or road). Residents enjoy all the benefits of a cosmopolitan city (prominent universities, a world-class opera company and thriving arts community) combined with a small-town friendliness, -and we’re surrounded by some of the most stunning countryside.
